MREs w/ FRHs Wanted

Normally, if I'm going to be in the field for any length of time, I feed myself off the land I'm on. I'll take granola and powerbars, but for meals I eat what I find. However, this summer I'm going out several times to wildlife refuges and sanctuaries where it's not just illegal to do so, but downright mean. I dithered and wavered on what to do, until a buddy [formerly one of Uncle Sam's misguided children] reminded me, "You know, someone already did the research on the best food to take out in the field." I need MREs.

However, finding real MREs with FRHs is getting harder and harder, and even the pickings on eBay aren't looking very reliable right now. I know some people here have some for sale - I'm looking at Treesuit, for instance - and I'd like to make contact with them. Over the course of this summer, I'm probably going to need more than just a few cases I can snag here or there off eBay, and I'd rather not be spending a hundred bucks for four days' food, either. I can't imagine needing more than 10 cases over the summer - I think I'd die if I ate MREs that long - and I'd like to start with buying just a couple cases, but over time I'm going to need a whole bunch. Anyone got some help for the new guy?

It's worth noting I don't need brand new super-fresh ones, because they're not getting stored for the zombie attack, they're getting eaten within the next couple of weeks. I'm also not that picky about menu, although variety is nice when you haven't had a fire or water-without-iodine for a month. Thanks!

Engine.....Try "Armygear.net" They have a two case special w heaters for $89.98 plus shipping. I ordered two cases about a month ago and they were 2008 mfg. and then ordered two more cases a couple of weeks later and they were 2007 mfg. They said they get what they get. They are Case "A" and "B" packed in one box (24 different meals)
Here is the link to their site....click on "Food" about 3/4 of the way down on the left side, after the page opens.
I hope they're still available....they say they run out a lot of the time. Good luck.

Engine,

Hi, I just read your post here and I'd like to say "thanks" for the bit of advertisement. "Yes" I do have good deals for the forum members here, as I'm sure you've seen the "grab bag boxes" and "cases" I have for sale. I have quite a bit stocked and I'd like to help you out. Could you PM me once you get a free moment and we can discuss everything. Thanks

Hey george and tporter...what'd you guys think of your MRE purchase from armygear.net? Did it look like they'd been damaged or abused? Did either of you guys actually crack open any of the individual MREs yet? Are they the real MRE with the FRHs? Or just the civilian Menu C MRE?

I'm asking since it actually looks like a good deal for 2 cases of real MREs, and I was thinking of dumping in an order with them. Thanks.

I dont have any complete meals to offer. But I have all the frh's you would need as well as many entrees, let me know if I can help. I am one of uncle sam's misguided children as well. It has been awhile since I heard that term.
