EBAY Asshat of the Month Award
I was jusy scanning Ebay, and noticed a guy hawking a case or 2, of regular MRE's. Claimed they were SPECIAL FORCES, because theres a big "MRE SF" printed on the underside of the case he pictures. I never noticed that on any cases I've had. Ebay # 220386979899.
After the Chicken and the Egg, came the "Omelet"!
Re: EBAY Asshat of the Month Award
I've seen those cases before. They're regular MRE's. The "SF" has nothing to do with Special Forces (can't remember if there was any significance to the marking at all,) but as usual on FleaBay there is no accountability when it comes to outrageous and misleading claims.

Re: EBAY Asshat of the Month Award
Maybe same guy as this one in 2007?
Re: EBAY Asshat of the Month Award
I remember we all talked about this on another thread. The SF probably means Solid Fiberboard in reference to the particular cardboard used in the packaging. Rather than the other type of cardboard used in the past. Defintiely not Special Forces.
Re: EBAY Asshat of the Month Award
I sent him a note, mentioned that SF didn't mean special forces...
I got this answer :
Thats kinda funny cause next to where it says MRE on the left. You see that circle thing. That says colagated wax fiber cardboard. I am in the Special Forces here at Ft. Bragg and the do not all say that. So no they are not standard. But there is some MRE Boxes that have a small SF near where it says MRE those boxes are solid fiber boaed and are not designed to be water proof. But that is what the government told me in my MRE class maybe you know better.
This guy is in Special Forces ???
God help us !

Do NOT bid ->on these<-.
These are home made, faked rations! The entrees are regular €1,39 supermarkt stuff
We don´t have "TP-61" rations.

Yeah, this ebay moron is talking out of his ass. The whole "SF" thing was talked about at length in the following 2007 thread:

If you skip the pages, you'll see my post about civilian Menu C MREs having the same "SF" stamp on the tops of their MRE boxes as well. So, does this ebay seller really believe that Menu C MREs which are manufactured specifically for CIVILIAN contractors are designed for "Special Forces" CIVILIAN contractors??? Gimme a break. I bought a new case of civilian Menu C MREs back in 2009 and the box top had the same "MRE SF" stamp on it. And I can tell you from personal experience that the Menu C case of "SF" MREs had a lot less food in them than the legit MREs which shoots down the ebay seller's claim that the "SF" MREs are heavier and have more food.
