Sources for MRE parts - entrees, etc.
Sources for MRE parts - entrees, etc.
I get a lot of questions about where can you buy individual MRE entrees, sides, spreads, etc. Here's what I usually say:
Here are a few of the places that appear to be reputable:
http://www.longlifefood.com
http://www.beprepared.com
http://www.theepicenter.com
Longlifefood.com is usually the most expensive at $2.50 per entree. Beprepared.com is next at $2.10 per entree. TheEpicenter is last/best at $1.75 per entree.
If anyone has any other good sources or recommendations, feel free to post them here!

good sale at theepicenter
I just saw this sale going on over at TheEpicenter: http://www.theepicenter.com/mre_militar ... o_eat.html
Beef w/ Mushrooms entrees for $0.99 each. The only drawback is that those entrees are from late 1999. If it were me, I'd buy and eat them because in my experience, MRE entrees last a good, long time.

another source for entrees
Here's another source (and I've purchased from this guy before):
His name is Eugene and his email address is "alwaysfair@pmt.org". His company in Idaho has a *ton* of MRE entrees - pretty much any you would want in any quantity you'd want. You can either contact him directly at the address above or check out some of his ebay auctions:
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZ4u2bglad
The last price quote I had from him was $1 per entree plus shipping.

They use to advertise MRE entrees by the case, I think. www.waltonfeed.com, might be waltonfeeds?? They specialize in huge cans and 5 gallon pales of emergency type food.

Country Captain
I can down it OK, and the Cavetelli chicken also. Not on my toplist though. The only later issue entree I could'nt stand is the Pasta in Alfredo sauce, or whatever the heck that was. I hope they fired the brainiac that came up with that one. LOL
