I would say that's a pretty rare HDR...you don't see many being sold for £49. :-) But that's about the only thing very rare about it. Seeing as it's one of the yellow HDRs, that puts it from around 2001 or earlier.

It's amazing how so many eBay scammers are the same losers that hang around on manufacturer's forums accusing the company of misrepresentation or false advertising.

Usually the forums of computer peripheral manufacturers or on fan sites.
One of the most common ones I've seen are those who buy known defective/scrap items on eBay and then try to scam the manufacturer into replacing them under warranty (even if it's out of warranty) and then selling the replacement product on eBay. A variation of that is if the defective item is current, they'll buy it off of eBay and then go to a local store, buy the same or similar product, and return the defective one.

I don't usually do that, but I certainly have in the past. Especially when Wal-Mart would take anything back period. If you buy something and it breaks, go get a new one and return the old one.

I'd venture to think that you were doing it in lieu of pursuing warranty service, not as a means of income like some of those clowns are doing. I'd be inclined to think that what some of those eBay clowns are doing are nothing short of a willful intent to defraud.

Yeah, I'd only do it if it broke, and even then they'd usually just take it back w/o a receipt for store credit, depending on who was behind the counter.
