Usually the forums of computer peripheral manufacturers or on fan sites.
One of the most common ones I've seen are those who buy known defective/scrap items on eBay and then try to scam the manufacturer into replacing them under warranty (even if it's out of warranty) and then selling the replacement product on eBay. A variation of that is if the defective item is current, they'll buy it off of eBay and then go to a local store, buy the same or similar product, and return the defective one.

I'd venture to think that you were doing it in lieu of pursuing warranty service, not as a means of income like some of those clowns are doing. I'd be inclined to think that what some of those eBay clowns are doing are nothing short of a willful intent to defraud.
