Seen this for the last year or so on eBay. Apparently this guy has a stash of cases of Faust Soluble Coffee in 8 ounce cans. Anyone know anything about this or have bought one? I'm thinking about getting a couple of cans and opening one to see if it'd be drinkable.

Thanks Tex. From what I've gathered this is the main guy (ebay dude) that has cases of these and has sold a case to a guy from Holland and someone else. I ordered two cans from the ebay guy and will show pics and open one and report back in several weeks once they arrive.

Yeah this stuff showed up everywhere. I have 3 cans of it, one in rougher shape than the others but have debated opening to try it for a while. They all sound good, not clumped etc. Seems a load have shown up from. Somewhere!!

Exactly on the surplus glut. I imagine a stash of a dozen or so cases being found in some old barn or something. Be cool to know the real backstory. If these checkout and a can is drinkable. I'll probably order a couple more before they're eventually gone.

I don't think there is a backstory. The front story is instant coffee tastes like scheisse, and Italy is a place known for coffee. Someone in Italy acquired these cases in 1944, maybe in trade heavily discounted and they sat, because they didn't want to drink it. Who would? Better than no coffee at all, I'll give it that much. That's how we find cases of this.

I bought a can a few months back and when it arrived and was in perfect condition, I got another. Like Phu said, they won’t last forever! K rations used to be in piles for a $1 at the army navy stores and look at them now.

I’ll admit I was a bit suspicious at the quantity that became available and how nice of condition they are, but they seem to check out fine.

I nabbed five of these cans, and they are all in great shape. I plan to open one and keep the contents to consume on special occasions. The opened can, I will replace the bottom of with a plug bottom and use it for reenactments. The other four will remain in my collection untouched. These are certainly the real deal, and very much worth grabbing as they will only go up in value.

While I would love one, I can't pull the trigger on it since while the price does make sense for a ww2 item, it's a bit high.
He is accepting offers, anybody know his low bid?
