UGR Dessert Trays

Post by noderaser » Sun Nov 27, 2022 6:54 pm

I salvaged some dessert trays from the Army, who were going to throw them away! I guess their soldiers didn't deserve dessert for something? I think they are all 2019/2020 dates of production, plastic trays with attached icing packet for the cakes. Would be happy to trade for some non-MRE rations, or sell for a reasonable price. I have the following:

3x Oatmeal Cookies w/Chocolate Chips
3x Breakfast Cake w/Syrup
2x Yellow Cake w/Chocolate Icing
2x Golden Harvest Cake w/White Icing
1x Red Velvet Cake w/White Icing

Trays also have a production date stamped on, see e.g.

"3266" so you can make sure their date of production

Yes, their Julian year is either 9 or 0. I don't remember when they switched to the plastic trays, do you?

Hmm, I suppose it's possible they could be from 2009/2010? They were from UGRs used for field training, so hopefully they're 19/20. I've also opened two of the cakes and some cookies and they were still just fine.

My best would be 2019 or 2020, as the Oatmeal Cookies here are trans fat free, something we have not observed in older production cookie trays. I will let you know when I get one tray of cookies in.

The tray of Oatmeal cookies I received was indeed from 2019 in my opinion - so pretty fresh!
