[SELL] British Army experimental portable heater 'Flexistove'

Post by bart » Wed Feb 24, 2021 4:29 pm

Hello Everyone,

I've come into the possession of a new experimental British Army cooking stove

Official name - 'FlexiStove' Individual Person: Food & Beverage Heating System

It seems like a really cool thing! Made out of some composite material utilising aluminium & other metals it's a fully collapsible and flexible cooking stove

You can use it to cook in two positions, one designed for a mess tin & the other for a metal mug. It also takes new & old fuel types from what I could test out

It's an experimental piece - you can't find much info about it on the website, I'm unsure if it will be standard issue, but it has come out an Vestey warehouse

Not even sure how to price these - £5 ($7) plus shipping, it will fit in a large letter ($5.65 USA, £1.55 UK)

I have a few hundred of these

So you set the fuel tablets right into that stove and burn it?

Yup! It's all metal. They even used metal/fire retardant thread as far as I can see

I'll do some testing later on this afternoon and post some pictures/videos

Really curious about this item. So, it can take manufactured fuel types, what about natural materials like sticks and such? Can it handle a small fire being built in it? If you werent overseas, and I had more faith in US customs right now (our whole post system has been poor for the last 8 months) I would get one from you to try.

I'm not entirely sure - from just looking at it and how it worked for me last night, I don't think it could. There's little space to house the fuel so it's perfect for a solid fuel type tablet, not sticks or anything else. I also don't think there would be enough air circulation to enable the fire to get going properly if something like sticks were used. I'll see if I can have a look and post the results. UPS seems to be working fine for me but not sent anything using standard mail to the states for a while.

Hi, I have gotten UPS delivered MRE's from Bart in less than a week. That's UK to US Midwest. I have used other vendors that used USPS and that usually takes a month or more. Just my experience, regards, Mike
