Cant comment on the USA. The experience i had with the EU was very enjoyable. Website glitch allowed me to order something that was sold out, they corrected the problem with me within an hour, amazing service and fast shipping. Items arrived in the condition they were stated as, in ALOT of protective packaging, i still havent finished using up some of it haha.
Check out my ORP menu spreadsheet: https://bit.ly/2NqUFRX | I have: | British 24HR Box Rations | French RCIRs | Type I EPA |Danish Rations

I buy plenty of rations from them, USA MRE's are shipped from the USA and European MRE's are shipped from the Netherlands mostly. They are good people to deal with. All my rations (USA and Europe) were wrapped in plastic or something to conceal their true identity 8) Prices are fair and reasonable.

Guy who runs it is a really nice guy, my kinda dude. Proper American. (I’m English but I love guns and hunting etc).
I’ve got some of my best stuff from him, vintage stuff and new... find him on Instagram and send him a message, he has a basement full of old gear, offer him the right price and he will send it over.

Hi, in the last several months I have placed 9 orders from MRE Mountain, USA. My observations are that, shipping from Europe can be expensive and slow. Products shipped from the US are fast and reliable, usually Priority Mail". Their descriptions and service are top notch. Service and products are excellent and I recommend them. I have no relationship with them except as a customer, regards, Mike

I've ordered from them a number of times in the past couple years. The prices are slightly high, but the customer service, communication, and product variety and availability make it absolutely worth the cost. A fantastic vendor all around.

On the other hand, you're new to the hobby, and fairly young. Not that age is an issue, but I suspect you might have limited cash flow. There's an inherent risk with ordering rations from overseas, and you might not be in a position to be able to absorb that loss. It's a demoralizing experience for anyone, but for someone young who has saved up the money for something special, it might just be enough to turn you off of the hobby altogether. I would hate to see that happen.

My suggestion, for you specifically, would be to stick with US sources until you get to a point where the loss of a certain percentage of your orders becomes an acceptable part of the hobby. Keep an eye on Amazon, ebay and these forums, and with a little patience, you're bound to find a ton of stuff to keep you interested.

Have bought several rations from them. It's better than average selection, at slightly higher than average prices. Everything is packaged well, and it's the fastest shipping from any company. Only once did I ever have a 'damaged item', and it was a UN 24 ration that customs had molested the main course out of it. MRE Mountain threw in so many extras, I barely noticed. High quality place.

You may pay a little (or sometimes a lot) extra but you get exactly what you pay for without the hassle of customs and often the long wait for shipping when ordering from far away.

Like I said. Bit expensive but a lot less hassle.

I purchased rations from them on several occasions until I had to stick to US source only after getting caught importing and found that they shipped from a foreign country while only appearing to be domestic so I had to stop or risk legal prosecution. Also, several rations I purchased did not match the menu #'s they posted (British ORP Rations) but they were completely unresponsive to communication about much less any kind of refund or return so you are stuck with whatever you get or do not get. Other than that, a good source for a variety of rations if you are willing to pay the prices and take those two risks.
