Reduced price. $45 includes shipping to anywhere in the US 48. Actually cheaper that if you buy these items individually at the store. Great for travel.

That's awesome, I didn't know such a thing existed. What a great idea, and very thoughtful of the Australian Military. It really demonstrates the value of the soldier and I'm sure it's a great morale booster.
I wonder about the US soldier... What kind of access to these types of items in the field, and what might be issued versus what has to be purchased at commissary. Is a similar kit available to US personnel, or must they obtain individual components?
This really has my mind occupied

In the American military they issue you what is called Health and Comfort Packs or HCP for short. They are similar to the Aussie kits and only issued on actual deployments.
You can read about them here:

Images are available if you check Google.

Excellent info, thank you.
I'm at a bit of a disadvantage on the learning curve without personal military experience...
I was in an accident at 16yrs old and had steel installed in a knee. MEPS refused to waive it twice, said I'd never make it through boot camp.
So I became a Firefighter and Paramedic instead. Served 25yrs (1985-2010) on both the West & East coasts.
...Never had a problem with the knee.
