Check out this guys auctions dannyj11-88 , he's selling "cases" for 29.99 each, and he has a lot, they're just all not in the box. Makes you wonder about the box, but he has a ton of positive feedback.. worth a look.

Well, you can now afford a case of Wornick's "Mil-Spec" civilian MREs.

I guess if you hold onto something long enough, it becomes "rare" (and valuable, the seller implies!)

So, here's a case of Mil-Spec (production date February 1999) for a starting bid of only $4.99! (BTW, CaptBob is not the seller.

I have two or three of these, as a curiousity, in my collection. One thing about the packaging -- they could be hung on a display from their little hole at the top of the package, you know, like a bag of Fritos! Also, on the back of the bag is all the nurtitional information. Kind of like, "this package labeled for individual sale".

These are just like the very first MREs I ever had. I ordered a case of Mil-Specs to give them a try. So first I had the Mil-Specs, then I tried the Sopakco Sure-Paks, and then I decided the real things looked a whole lot better and it's been real MREs ever since!

The shipping on that auction is a little high for this East-coaster but if someone on the West coast could score that case for $10 plus shipping, that'd be a good deal.

Heh heh...$10...right. These days it'll probably go for $50.
