Well, I sent out 11 packages today, 3 of which are international. One Croatia, one Germany, and one Poland. After that, it will have to be something very rare to trade international again. Lol. Just too risky and way too expensive.

Live and learn though.

I completely agree. What's worse is that to send out the new package cost me $91. I guess because I put some extras in.
It sounded to me as European customs has rejected it and US customs emptied it?

I don't thinink EU customs can reject packages? They confiscate it and destroy it if necessary, also reciever get a notice to come to customs and explain the contents and pay custom fee if needed. I believe Bob's pakage never left USA, it got halted and wrecked and they didn't rush it.

Don't know what happened, only know the end result. Either way, I have decided to put it behind me. New package sent along with a bunch more today. Now it's time to build a fire, crank open an IMP I haven't tried yet, pop the top on a root beer, and relax.

Thanks for letting me vent guys. The brite to this whole story is that the Croatian ration I gotnin exchange is FANTASTIC! Really going to enjoy that one.

According to my expirience (I've been sending internationally food rations over a year) never place word "FOOD" on CN22 Custom Declaration. It is more safely to post under 2kg as mail piece because it get simple Custom Clerance. Also it is baned post chemical heaters by air. :)

This is list of banned products to inport/export in US from Polish Post.
"...of spirits and alcoholic beverages, meat and meat products
animal, cigarettes and tobacco products, anabolics.

Sending food products requires the prior
sender confirmation number (Prior Notice Confirmation Number) issued
by the US Administration d.s. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. Food and Drug
Administration).

This requirement does not apply to:
- Food prepared by a private person in her home and sent as
gift in the non-profit to other private persons in the United
States,
- Food imported or proposed to be imported for the purposes
profit.
Examples of food imported or proposed to be imported, which could
belong to the category of unpaid are:
- Food intended for consumption at home,
- Food purchased by the traveler and the traveler sent by mail
the address in the United States.
- Gifts purchased in the retail outlet and sent by the purchaser (if, however,
This facility will give the food trade on its own account, a requirement for
confirmation will still be valid)."

Hope it will be helpful.

So it is correct to write on the customs declaration that the parcel passed in the USA or Europe???
Dear forumites, upon purchase of rations I don't bear responsibility for passing by a parcel of customs authorities of the USA,Canada and other countries. You make all purchases at own risk. Please consider it at the order of rations

Definitely sorry to hear about your pkg BlackDogBob! I am waiting for a 19kg pkg of IRPs that I invested $200 in from Moscow. It left Russian federation almost 2 months ago and I,m definitely starting to worry. Last pkg took only 1 month with no issues. Keeping my fingers crossed lol.

sourwes I think my worst wait from the Russian Federation was around 80 days - it definitely happens, although there was a known postal backlog/strike at the time.
