Actually, the Colt 20rd'ers are for my AR. Along with a bunch of other early Colt mags made by Simmonds and Adventure Line.
My last three acquisitios were (1) vintage Colt A1 upper group released from arsenal stocks, my Class III MAC10, and a Stevens WWII-era .12ga Trench Gun. I keep a Para Ordnance P14 .45acp with 20rd mag loaded w/ 285gr Remington Golden Saber jacketed HP's by the bed at night. If someone or something with ill intentions comes through the door it will be found the next morning where it fell the previous night!
I'm interested to see how your offer pans out. Hopefully he'll accept as I know you have to be pacing the floor or salivating uncontrollably.
BTW - There is a movie from the late-80s (I think) starring Don Johnson as a detective chasing a white supremacist from L.A. to Utah. He's armed with a .357 Python. Just thought that might be something you would enjoy?

Doh, that's right - Colt AR - makes sense now - hah!
Nice! You got a mac? I can get one for $2,400 or so at the place I get my guns at. He's a class 3 dealer and can get you literally any gun you could imagine from this guy. I can't really afford a class 3 quite yet - I own some scary hardware (all Russian if you know what I mean) but not that nice.
Cool a Para double stack... alot of lead there! - I sleep with a Beretta Elite2 92G (Tritium sights, Mec-Gar 17 Rders.) W/ glasers on my end-table. It's my fav handgun. Sounds like we're both ready for whatever is dished!
P.S. I'll figure out what movie with Don Johnson is through Netflix and queue it!

Hey Steve,
Hope you are sitting down. That MAC of mine when purchased was brand new in the factory box, original factory mag, loaing tools, etc. Everything was still wrapped in the vapor-barrier foil-backed paper! I was smart to take the mag out of the box immediately when it arrived at the shop and I stopped in to give it the twice-over while the papework was still being done. I have cash offers of $4000 on the table from some Class III dealer friends any time I want to part with it. Here is the "sit down" part....
I paid $695 for it!!
No typo there!!! SIX-NINETY-FIVE
It was part of a group buy the dealer had going on. It's not a Cobray or any other aftermarket brand. It's a genuine Military Armaments Corp. (MAC) in 45acp. A real 'bullet hose' that has you spending more time loading mags than emptying them!

I'm very sorry for getting off topic at such an awkward bad time - I hadn't seen the news until just now after you posted that biscuits. I am at a loss for words on the news in Norway - all I can say is my prayers are with all the victims and I am very sorry for their loss on such senseless violence.

Guys please dont take this the wrong way, but I think maybe talking about guns on an thread that is meant to be about vintage old school MRE prices is a bit off topic and inappropriate at the present time?
We do have Norwegian readers and at least one good forum member and friend from Norway. Please, maybe not now.
Just a thought.

Hey Guys,
I was looking through this old thread and still wondered if anybody had any interest in vintage, sealed, dark brown MRE cases. I picked up 5 cases over Christmas break and three of them are real vintage cases. I did a post along with pictures of at least 50 dark brown MRE's that I snatched up. So if anybody would like some dark brown MRE's that are in really good condition let me know.

Just another update:
I picked up another vintage case of 1979 dated MRE's with 5 single MRE's all dated between 1994-95. The single bags are very new and show no signs of damage. I still have 5 cases left over from my previous post.

Hi Treesuit, I thought MREs first came out in 1981...is that really a case of them from 1979? Or is it an MCI case from 1979? Just curious.

Kman,
Well, I just sold the newest case of 1979 MRE's to RULERYAK along with a 1982 case I had. First off, it had "MEAL, READY-TO-EAT" across the top. I was thinking the same thing you were except that I got a little look-see into the 1979 case. It appears there was a open corner where the folds didn't overlap. I got a flashlight and tried to peak inside, sure enough I saw some brown bags hiding in there. So what this means, I don't know. RULERYAK will have to answer that question for us.
If anybody is still interested I have dozens of brown bag MRE's by the singles still left and some 1990 vintage cases. The singles are from different periods of the 1980-1990's and all are in mint condition.
