That's unfortunate. Price gouging kills relationships.Shawn wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 8:17 pmIn New England the only surplus store is now selling five year old MREs for 14 bucks each. I left them an email and let them know they could have made thousands of dollars off of me per year but since he wants to be a jackass I won't be doing business with him. Nobody should be doing business with him. He is selling his old stock that he paid four bucks an mre now for a profit of ten bucks. The guy is an asshat
Where is your favorite place to buy MREs?

While I really like what I saw at epicenter, when I tried to order I found that they don't deliver to my state. It should be a fabulous resource for those states that can receive their shipments. Minotaur is incredible, and gets top ratings from me. I had extremely good transactions with mrenation in the past, however, the site has definitely slipped lately. There is WAY too much stock that is not supported, discontinued, sold out, etc. The whole site needs a clean-up. I'm confident that BDB can bring it back up to it's former glory after the physical move happens. It's a damn shame what happened to foreignmre, they really got screwed with the customs crap that happened last year. Things seem to be getting back to normal, but now there's covid issues. Never a break. Anyway, every transaction I've had with Art & Nina has been exceptional, I really hope they are able to regain their niche in the future. I would like to add a plug, as well, for mremountain. While I have seen and understand the criticisms leveled at them for transparency (they appear to be a US company, but shipments come from overseas), I have to say that of the dozen or so transactions I have had with them, only two (the largest, of course) were raped by customs, and with a little communication my full cost for the first (largest) was refunded. I absolutely did not expect that, I was communicating to find a fair price to pay for what actually came through, and my respect for this company increased a thousandfold with this interaction. For the second ravaged order, I did not communicate, because I felt that it all balanced out fairly. In our current state, it has to be understood that there is risk with international orders, but they have been extraordinarily fair with me. I have had successful orders with them since those two issues last year.

My first international ration was a Russian at a great price from Amazon. A White Star for $32, free shipping. They are definitely worth looking at when you're searching for something new.

I started out 3 yrs ago with MREMountain,Zone and ForeignMRE until they all got gutted by the FDA, then went to Ebay to sellers in Lithuania, but have not bought from outside the US since the crackdown went full jackbooted thug. Started acquiring civilian backpacking foods from Stowaway Gourmet and such as a little alternate path off the military ration road lately.

I appreciate the tips. As far as EpiCenter, unless I'm missing something, the variety at that store is very limited. I couldn't even find full mres and very few sides. I even checked today to be sure and indeed they don't seem to have any in stock and it seems for some time now.
As far as Minotaur, I just ordered one of their 24 hour MRE deals. It was a little pricey but I'm excited to try it out.
I bought from Foreign MRE as well. I even ended up getting spork and mug to help support them a bit more. They seem like really awesome people! I enjoy their YouTube videos. It seems the customs issues have resolved as I see they have both domestic and international mres in stock.
Regarding MRE Nation, I really wanted to try one their IraqVeteran8888 MREs and emailed them to see when they would be in stock again. I unfortunately didn't hear back (so far). Though, Covid 19 may be causing a back log ad lag in their business.
I also bought from MRE Mountain recently. I bought a variety of international MREs. So far it's been a few weeks and I haven't seen them come through. Hopefully my shipment doesn't experience the same fate. I've read similar horror stories. To be honest, I get the rationale of why there is concern of importing international goods and preventing the potential of live stock disease. However, it does seem a bit overreaching by the government. I don't know the right answer.

I've have to try that out. I'm very excited to get my first international shipment which is en route. Hopefully it makes it one piece.

Good point. Though, I did essentially imply the trading piece with the mention of forums. I've not delved into the trading realm yet. It sounds interesting.safariman1 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:03 amThanks for doing this survey, but you forgot one important category. Trade/Buy with your fellow collectors. It seems like MRE Mountain and Foreign MRE may be recouping as they have quite a selection. I bought some Halal and Kosher MREs off of Ebay recently to give those a try. Stowaway looks like they have quite the interesting selection of flavors. Any recommendation?Sailswish wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:42 amI started out 3 yrs ago with MREMountain,Zone and ForeignMRE until they all got gutted by the FDA, then went to Ebay to sellers in Lithuania, but have not bought from outside the US since the crackdown went full jackbooted thug.
