Ahh `shucks.... Thanks guys
You know, my infactuation with rations goes back to another birthday I had when I was younger (11 or 12 years old). My brother came home on leave from the Army and for my birthday gave me 3 C-ration cans of Pound Cake, 2 cans of Pecan Nut Roll, and a new in the wrap P38 can opener. I was in Heaven!
When I later joined the Army myself in the mid 70s I was the only guy who would take "Cs" home with me after trainings and deployments. I can still remember the comments I got from my fellow infantrymen as to my sanity (insert evil laugh here

).
To this day I still have that original P38 on one of my key rings --- almost 40 years later. Now if only I could find a can of Pound Cake.....

Well ... the good new is that being just over the hump and being a relatively new inductee in the Half Century Club doesn't make you too old.
... the bad news is that you ain't no spring chicken either
Hope you had a great birthday!
