Hello All!
Hey! I'm currently new to the MRE and military community here and I've been wanting to collect MREs alike! Unfortunately I have maxed out and bought all the MREs I could for my collection, and was wondering if anyone had any rations, whether they're U.S. based, International, etc., that they maybe don't have any more room to on their shelves or are willing to give away? I'm wanting to collect WWI and other military rations as well, but I KNOW no one is just going to give that up, so I am trying to save up for those, and I want to take photographs in time for my school's yearly museum! I'd be SO ECCENTRIC if anyone was willing to spare any MRE's I'm TOO excited to start building my collextion!
Re: Hello All!
Hi, Welcome to the forums and mreinfo. Older rations can fetch a big price tag due to rarity, but current ones are $6-9+ each. (Lots of them are overpriced on ebay) Whats in your collection so far?

Re: Hello All!
Thank you for the welcome! I saw they were pricey and I spent about $50 for 3 rations. So just the 3 for now! They're all U.S. MRE's, Menu 7, 12 and 24! I'm also interested in international ones like Australia, Canada, Russia, etc., but they're so expensive for just one ration! I don't know what I'm getting myself into but I am SO intrigued about military rations, I thought why not see if anyone out there could spare any for a beginner!
Re: Hello All!
$50 on 3??? Thats way too much unless that includes next day shipping. You can find better deals. Check your local military surplus and camping stores, if there are any by you.

Yikes... Big mistake on my part. And shipping was definitely not next day... I dont think there are any surplus stores here in NYC, but I'm definitely up for looking just in case! Thanks for the tip!
Re: Hello All!
Im in CT, very close. What date codes on your 7,12,24?
4 digit date code. 1st digit is year and last 3 digits are the day of that year.
Ex. Jan 10 2018 would read 8010, but 8010 can also mean Jan 10 2008
Most packs have exterior codes on the end seals, but not all. Interior items should all be coded

Are you by chance an artist of sorts? I have a spare Singapore ration that I might be willing to trade for something unique!
