Thanks for the tip Drew78! Like Bob said, don't worry about it, I don't think anyone is going to blame you if things don't pan out, they'll just appreciate that you thought of everyone else and passed on the info about a potential source of rations. Thanks for sharing!

Always good to find a new source! Sounds like there's a chance he'll have the FSB Mountain Rations, wouldn't mind finding another one of those eventually.

Just keep in mind that the space food that's on the site right now is a commercial product available in vending machines in Russia. It might come from the same factory as the meals that get sent up to space, but it is not the exact same product. They're really tasty though, and I'd recommend them to anyone trying to get a taste for what the tube food is like.

Yes, you are right. It was secret technology how to make food in tube for astronauts in 1960 - 1980 years, nowadays it is declassified, and some companies bought a patent. It is the same food as used in a space, but in different package
