So was gabbing with the other half about the meet up in Doswell, which to say isn't a big hit with her. However, with King's Dominion amusement park just down the road it makes it more attractive for families to have more things and options to do. Luckily it remains open till the end of October. So health and business considerations aside looks like we'll be there.

A nicer park is Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. http://tinyurl.com/jeurr7ngundog4314 wrote:However, with King's Dominion amusement park just down the road it makes it more attractive for families to have more things and options to do.
It's more park like with trees, has great food and is only about an hour fifteen minutes from Richmond.
I've been swamped lately, but I'll try to get on the hotel group thingy this week. any rough ideas of numbers?
may as well get any vendors in on the deal too.
Re: MRE Symposium and Meetup
It is looking increasingly unlikely that I will make it but, hope is not completely diminished yet.
Is there any word on the special customs deal for the museum rations yet. If I can't make it I will still donate a CR1M for the museum and another one for one of you guys to review on the day.

Is there any other way??!

Re: MRE Symposium and Meetup

WHY AM I JUST NOW SEEING THIS? HOLY CRAP, I FEEL SO BAD WITH HOW DISTANT IVE BEEN WITH THE COMMUNITY OVER THE PAST MONTHS BECAUSE OF ALL THIS LIFE CRAP THAT IM FIGURING OUT!
This is so awesome, Bob, you are a true wizard. What I mean by that is... I literally just watched a thread go from a very possible idea to a very thorough, MAJOR! And prominent event with so much support and sponsor. Also, you're idea for donating to the Museum is awesome! Uhg! Man, you rule! This is so good.
So, with that being said. Let's GO AHEAD! And put me down in that headcount. I'll ask for a few days off work, maybe book a hotel, hop in the car and zip down there, it's only a 9 hour drive

I'm so incredibly excited to hear this, and I'm so stoked to meet you guys in person and shake your fricken hands. You all rule, including you Bob. You're the man.
My collection is slim unfortunately, I still have about 90% of my collection reserved for review that I just haven't been able to get too, maybe I could of, but I really let myself get the best of me these past 5 months, ya know, working 60 hours at the dealership and trying to go to school at the same time also while going through a very impractical move. Haha... I'm looking like a soup sandwich at this point, but this is getting me pumped.
I'll do whatever I can man, just let me know. I'm also down to help anyone out even if they need a ride or whatever, I'll be coming from The mitten so anywhere between here or there.
Ahh man I can't wait. Thanks again sir. I look forward to seeing you all!!!

I learned about this yesterday, via gundog's short vid on TwoYubes. WHY is this buried way down here in this subforum?
