Exactly. And I would probably be weary of ordering rations from countries like China and other places that don't have the rules and regulations when dealing with food, health, and safety. I believe meat and dairy food products rare also prohibited in the United States. Somebody in a different thread had a box of Chinese rations confiscated!
I had a package get pinched by Customs. It was in a lot of Spanish Cold Weather Reinforcement rations. They seized and destroyed, Swine, Dried, Cured. They opened one package out of 5.
The reasons cited do make sense. There are certain bots and illnesses that don't occur in some areas. The local population may be tolerant to it, but it may be harmful to someone not from that area.
Kinda like the saying,"Don't drink the water in Mexico." I will look for the form. Then I can give the exact wording.
