Items for the Charity Auction for the Ration Museum
Hey guys! We are going to use this thread to start letting everyone know what items have been donated for the charity auction during the MRE Meetup and Symposium in Doswell VA in October. If this is the first you are hearing about the meetup, check the thread "MRE Symposium and Meetup".
During the meetup, we are going to do a charity auction to help raise funds for the Ration Museum. For details on the museum, please visit http://www.rationmuseum.com
Anyway, as items are donated, we will post them here and will assign them an item number. We will post the pictures of what is donated after we physically receive the items and will assign them an item number. Ruleryak will be the moderator for the auction, so any questions on how to donate items should go to him.
So far we have had committments from several folks for donating items. Several cases of MREs (old and new), some surplus mess kits, a case of EFS 24 hour rations, and an Australian CR5M.
Thanks!

Re: Items for the Charity Auction for the Ration Museum
So check this out guys! During the MRE meetup, when we do the auction to raise money for the museum, I am donating 6 Canadian IMPs to sell in two groups of 3 each.
It's gonna be a great time! Be there is you can!

Re: Items for the Charity Auction for the Ration Museum
I'm donating this Emergency Parachute Ration - perfect for a C1 Survival Vest display or a general ration display. It's in great shape, undented, nearly rust-free, with an attached can opener.
Item Number: 001
Name: Emergency Parachute Ration
Era: WW2

If we can get it through customs I will donate a CR1M

Re: Items for the Charity Auction for the Ration Museum
I've been having great luck for the last three or so years - nothing has been seized coming into the US and I've had at least 20 intl shipments in that period - many with heaters/etc. That said - it may make sense to wait a little bit, as I'm working on getting the museum a customs exemption that would allow us to legally import rations, and not leave it to chance. It may be a few months before I can get that sorted, but the auction will be in October so that may work out.Yowie wrote:If we can get it through customs I will donate a CR1M

This sounds good, will hold on for further info. Good work on those trades. I have been mostly lucky over the years but have lost a few minor things.I've been having great luck for the last three or so years - nothing has been seized coming into the US and I've had at least 20 intl shipments in that period - many with heaters/etc. That said - it may make sense to wait a little bit, as I'm working on getting the museum a customs exemption that would allow us to legally import rations, and not leave it to chance.
