Re: Russian rations for trade or sale
Please help me, because I am a little lost here.
I checked the packs you want to trade and I also checked a Russian website, and the number of IRP types are overwhelming. "Old" and "new" design, plastic bags and foil-coated carton boxes... Which one of these are in service? My brain cannot handle all the variations.
The foil-coated carton boxes:
The new design box
You are referring to this as the "new design" which is great, but there are at least three different carton boxes on the Internet.
Some brownish box
A camouflaged box
Another camouflaged box
I assume that the first box with the "new" design is the IRP currently in service and the other three were replaced by that. Am I right?
The plastic bags
Some camouflaged bag
Another camouflaged bag with different colors
A less camouflaged bag with a half star on the top
Are they all in service? Or do they have different purposes? One replaced the other two?
Thanks for the clarification in advance.

The very short answer is: yes, they all are in service!MREHungary wrote: Are they all in service? Or do they have different purposes? One replaced the other two?

Now we have minimum 6 "big" different companies (do now know how many "small" companies are active at the same time

But "new design" with a star - is the latest one design by biggest one army-MRE supplier.
Same companies make rations for police and Russian EMERCOM.
All the rations you mentioned, are in service right now. I`ve seen and\or tasted all of them, about 40+ types altogether. Usual system is "7 menus in own design, 2.5kg inside" or "2 menus in own design, 1.9kg inside". All the menus in Russian rations are NOT the same, but they are near.
The only one Russian ration i still "hunting" for - is "Special Forces MRE", extremely hard to find. At the same time true "spetznaz" troops are supplied by usual IRP-boxes

Do you have any information on these? Any pictures? What makes them different? Do these special forces rations use freeze dried or dehydrated components or anything like that?onepamop wrote:The only one Russian ration i still "hunting" for - is "Special Forces MRE", extremely hard to find.

Here is RPG (like RPG-7), Russian ration for mountains. It means - for Russian Special Forces, acting in mountains.
Green plastic box, no tin package, 5x chocolate bars etc. High-calorie - more then 5000kcal each menu. 2 different menus.
Very rare ration and one of most delicious. I have some

Wow onepamop. Those look amazing! Retort pouched components in a Russian ration? Now I definitely need to find two of those. If you or anyone else you know is selling that variety please let me know - just send me a PM and we can work out the details!
