Check It Out!!!!
Anyone looking for some mre's? Someone has up 26 sales listings up on ebay that started July 6. Their on buy it now for $29.95 with $20.43 for shipping! If it's legit that is an awesome deal. There are listings for both case A and B. Happy buying.

I'm pretty sure those MREs are the ones being listed by dannyj11-88. BigMark mentioned him on an unrelated thread a couple of weeks ago. I was worried about this guy's auctions because the prices looked "too good to be true" and his feedback was private. Well, his feedback is still private but one of the other members pointed me to an online tool that could show you private feedback. That tool (goofbay.com) doesn't work anymore but I was able to see the guy's feedback and it was all positive. Also, BigMark told me he did receive his MREs so it looks like this guy might be for real.
Shipping for me was only $10 so I'm guessing the guy is located somewhere out East - NC/SC/FL - something like that.

I can't really speak for the guy but if I had to guess, I'd say it could be for a couple of reasons:
1. The MRE cases weigh more than regular cardboard boxes. Maybe the guy is trying to save people some money on shipping.
or
2. There have been recent investigations by the Army into MRE sales on Ebay. If you auction a case of MREs with the original box, that box will have a barcode/serial number that can be used to track down the original location/purpose of the MREs. Without the original box, it's more difficult to prove where the MREs originated.
Number 2 above is my best guess. Whether the seller would be doing this to cover up the source of the MREs or just to save himself some hassle, I don't know.

Well, the other, although one I hope against reason, happens to be that if these had been in the flood waters of a disaster, it might have destroyed the boxes, but it would be near impossible to tell on the MREs.. that being said, they smell normal when you open the case, so I sort of doubt it, but I just wanted to posit the idea.

I emailed the man to see if he could be more specific about the packing dates. If these have the true 2005 menu, I would be interested.
