About the method of embedding the player of youtube video in this forum, I do not understand well.
Before, I have remembered that it was possible by URL which is not started and shortened not by https but by http.
However, I think now that it is not possible.
As for old-time post, even now, the player is embedded.
Is it related to the version of hphBB?
Does it need the following extension? https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... bcode_box/

laughing_man, I looked into this and we're going to see about getting an extension installed into the forums that will automatically parse the youtube (and other) URL into an embedded video. It might take a day or two, but we'll test it and let you know when it's working!

laughing_man (and everyone else),
We just updated the forums to support embedding over 105 different types of video and audio links - youtube, amazon, bbc news, vevo, twitter, ustream, vimeo, etc.
The way it works is this - just paste in the URL of the video you want to share like this (I'm pasting in a link to one of Steve's videos):
and the video will automagically embed and be ready to play.
ONE NOTE: This only works for new or edited posts. So if you have an existing post with a video link and you want the video to show up as embedded, just edit your post and re-submit it - that's all - you don't need to make any changes. The new extension will parse the video URL and embed the video.
If you want the video link to actually show up as a link/clickable text, you'll need to wrap it in the URL BBcode tag AND paste the URL in as plain text - like this:
