Language packs

Post by kman » Sat Nov 15, 2008 11:53 am

With this latest update of forums software, I'm going to make other languages available here on the forums. These "language packs" change all the standard forum text - the words "Board index", "User Control Panel", "View your posts", etc. and most of the buttons like "Save", 'Preview", "Submit" into their equivalents in other languages. These language packs will NOT translate topics or content into other languages.

I'm doing this to make it easier for our non-native-English speaking members to navigate around the forums more easily.

So far, I have just installed the German/Deutsch language pack. If you have requests for other languages, please see the list of what's available here: http://www.phpbb.com/languages/ and let me know which know which one you want. I can't promise I'll install them all but I'll take a look at it.

To use a new language, click on "User Control Panel" and then the the "Board Preferences" tab. You can change your language using the "My language" menu.
