Working on the forums theme
I came home this morning from a 24 hrs shift and though I´m horrible tired as I see everything in other colors than usually...kman wrote:Ok...well let me take back part of that last comment. I gave it one last try and managed to replace the ugly green color with a nice, dark tan.
I'm not 100% happy with the new colors so I might do a little more tweaking tomorrow.
What do you guys think? Looks better? Eye-sore?
Good Morning Kman!
I've been MIA for a couple of days...... What the hell happened to the site color? This "new" (?) lite greenish/yellow SUCKS !
(just in case I wasn't clear about that...... it bites the Big One) Yiiiiiiiiiiiick!
Take it away! It's hurting my eyes! (and you know how bad my eyesight is)

Ok C-rats, help me out here. The best help you could provide is if you have better color recommendations - like specific HTML color codes I could try. But I know that I'm in no way a graphics designed so I won't hold it against you if you aren't. :-)
So short of better recommendations, can you tell me exactly which parts you don't like? You describe green and yellow but I'm not sure which areas you mean.

Is it the area with A, B, C, or D?

Hmmmmm.... OK, here goes.....
"A" seems to be the original "white" background ---- no problem there.
"B" color seems washed out with white (not as green as before). Poor contrast.
"C" ..... "tan-ish/green"? Poor contrast / definition with rest of page.
"D" Oh yuck, this is the "yellowish/green" that's turning my stomach.
I think the best way for me to describe the overall coloration of the forum page is "washed out". The color contrast is really poor (I've viewed these both in bright back light and dim lighting now). The only color which is sharp is the dark chocolate brown colored "bars" used to separate the Reply boxes.
Clear as mud now?

Kman: Maybe not as bad only because there are pictures and other (more vibrant) colors on the pages as well ---- such as the dark green used in the menu toolbar or hot-links. For sure (IMHO at least) the forum pages just look plain "blase". But remember, I'm the one with the seemingly poor eyesight.
