Symantec Network Proxy Crash

Post by davek » Sun Mar 09, 2008 3:02 am

This site sometimes crashes my Symantec Network Proxy service. This necessitates a reboot to regain internet service. Here's the info:

szAppName : CCPROXY.EXE szAppVer : 103.0.4.3 szModName : msvcr71.dll
szModVer : 7.10.3052.4 offset : 000029fe

I use the Opera browser (latest version) on XP. Has done it ever since I've been coming here. Doesn't always do it, but does it only on this site. Any ideas?

davek, is it just the main website that crashes your Symantec proxy or is also the forums? I mostly use Opera with XP myself (but with ZoneAlarm) and haven't run into that problem.

Just the forum, actually. I have the crash window on the screen as I type this. It doesn't close the program until you send or don't send the error report. Some days it doesn't happen, other times it happens almost immediately when I visit the forums. I visit plenty of other forums online, and none crash it. You don't have any apparent ads which load from another site to blame, either.

That is really odd. The main site has a bunch of javascript and CSS errors that I could see causing problems. But I just checked the forums using Opera and reloading this page created no errors in the log (which you can check via Tools->Advanced->Error console).

What version of Opera are you using? I'm on 9.21. I guess about all I could suggest is see about updating Opera or your Symantec program.
