As you may have noticed, the logo for the MREInfo.com site and forums has been updated. Even though the old "Soldier and Rifle" logo was the symbol on all the 1995-2007 MRE bags, it's also the current logo of the US Army Natick Soldier Research, Development & Engineering Center:
Since MREInfo is a civilian-run website that isn't affiliated with the Department of Defense or any of the MRE manufacturers, the fine folks at Natick were kind enough to ask me if I wouldn't mind changing the site's logo to avoid any confusion between the official Natick group and the not-so-official MREInfo website.
And so here we are. This is my first, quick attempt a new logo and it might change again if I get any better suggestions or ideas. Feel free to chime in with your own suggestions or feedback on the new logo.

Yes, there's a new "favicon" file, too. You'd be surprised how difficult it is to make a 16x16 pixel logo that has any sort of detail. I'm still amazed the old logo looked as good as it did in such a tiny space.

Hi, just thought for my first ever post to the forums, I'd share my suggestion for a new logo. This is something I threw together rather quickly, so it could stand to be tweaked a bit, perhaps. Let me know what you think!
Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I like this design.
Re: New site logo
I think the new design is very good. It would be nice if the original one could have stayed, but it's certainly understandable why the Natick Labs would have concern about it.
BrisketMan's logo would make for a pretty kick-ass patch!
