I've seen the promos, but failed to notice the broadcast date. Worse, the show doesn't appear in SEARCH on my DirecTV menu. What gives? I watched Forged in Fire last night, and there definitely was no Smokey show.

Edit to add: Found it via innanet search. It airs Wednesday March 25 at 10pm Eastern. It's still odd that I can't locate it on the DirecTV search function so I can set it to record.

RE-edit! Okay, it appears that the "MENU" function on DirecTV doesn't extend out as much as two weeks ahead. Everything on all channels is listed as "To Be Announced" that far out. So that may be why it doesn't show up in SEARCH.

Don't know which forum to put this in, so I'll say it here...

Congratulations, Smokey! Those were two fine segments, both of you were great on camera, and the items were covered with just enough background and history to give context and meaning. Very well done, sir!

On a personal note, I was most pleased to see a LRP meal - and doubly so that it survived nicely. I remember them with mixed feelings, mostly because when we ate them, there was often not enough time to let them hydrate properly and they were shall we say a bit crunchy. Beef and rice was okay, but chili with beans was "mud and rocks" that put teeth in danger!

I watched the show (both episodes) last night and was seriously impressed. I mean, yeah, I'm already a fan of Oldsmokey's videos and livestreams so I thought I'd just be seeing more of the same with the show. But I was so wrong...

The back and forth between Oldsmokey and Josh was engaging. They did it in such a way that I felt like I was in the room with them experiencing whatever they were opening...minus the smell and the taste...but they painted (verbally) such detailed pictures of what they were smelling and tasting that I could imagine it for myself.

And the extra background info they added for each item was the crowning touch. This is what changed the show from being "Eating Old Stuff" to being "Eating History".

That's a little tricky. Technically, you can stream the episodes here:

https://www.history.com/shows/eating-history

However, you have to sign in with your TV provider and I'm not sure what accommodations they make for non-US users. There is a huge list of providers under "More TV Providers" so check that out.

But hey...look at this...when I clicked on Episode 1, it asked me to login with my TV provider. But when I clicked on Episode 2, it didn't ask me to login and just started playing. So give episode 2 a try:
