Just seeing this now! This looks like it's going to be an awesome event! Thank you for hosting, Bob! I'm going to have to check the summer schedule and see if I can manage to make it work this time. Thought I was going to be able to do Doswell, and STILL regret not being able to make that one happen.

One question that I don't think has been asked yet: how far is MRE Nation from the airport? (I know I could just look it up on Google Maps or whatever, but figured I'd ask). Wondering if it's possible/realistic to Uber or taxi it from the airport. Since the Hampton and the mall are so close it doesn't seem like there's any real need to have a vehicle other than to get from and to the airport.

Count me in as a definite Maybe! Hope to update that status soon...

It shows about 28 miles, G-Man. I arrive about 4 pm Friday and have a Cadillac reserved. I'll take anybody who arrives about the same time.

Ah, not too far, but probably a little too far to Uber it. Well, going in a Caddy would certainly be the stylish way to go! It's s funny that you were able to secure that ride for LESS than the price of a sub-compact. If I CAN go and happen to be getting in at the right time I'd love to tag along with you, Rocky!

I guess they just have a surplus of "luxury" grade cars sitting there, and need to get them used. I recently found another destination where an SUV was the cheapest rental. Weird.

Roughly about 20 miles east of the airport. I would Uber and not worry about a car rental. Of course, I could probably be persuaded to pick you up and save the expense of an Uber.

Thanks for the additional info. I'd REALLY love to be able to make this one. We have a very busy summer, but at this point the 17th appears to be open. Money is crazy tight right now (what else is new, right?). Crossing fingers.
