Aussie new kid on the block, Weird Snacks

Hey guys!

I've been an avid follower of MRE Ration Reviewers on YouTube and elsewhere for a while.

I'm an avid hiker, so I've always been interested in low-weight, high-calorie food rations, but after seeing how well certain personalities
do the MRE review thing on YouTube (Gundog, Steve1989, AlexJackson, GShchultz9, Paul Buikema., etc.,!), I realised I needed to carve out
my own niche on something I was passionate about.

I am very curious about MRE's, but what I'm PASSIONATE about? Is really weird snacks from around the world. It started with Asian snacks,
and went from there.

So snacks, chips, etc., soft drinks, and candies or sweets, from around the world that are just a little bit different?

That is my speciality.

So I hope you guys appreciate my entry into the "review crowd", and please check out my channel, "Weird World Snacks".

Suggestions of various weird world snacks welcome lol.. :)

Cheers,

Cool idea and channel - welcome to the forums! I'm trying to think up what I would consider a weird American snack. Do you have pork rinds over there? Pressurized cheese in a can? Scrapple? Root beer? Birch beer? Twinkies? Shoot me a PM and maybe we can work out a snack exchange

Hey thanks! We do indeed have pork rinds hehe... The thing is with regards to US snacks, ever since the US/AUS Free Trade Agreement, it would seem that US Snacks are very very easy to come by now. There's even a US Foods retailer in my hometown, and although the prices are pretty inflated (really only because our dollar at the moment is worth less than peanuts), indeed we can get Twinkies, Butterfinger, Reese's Pieces, Peanut Butter cups, and various others. It's actually not even that uncommon now to see Peanut Butter Cups, Hershey Bars, and Dr Pepper in mainstream supermarkets. The cheese in a can is available but not as easily..... The only thing is a lot of the stock from some of these retailers tends to be close to or even out of code. I know that doesn't mean they're "rotten" but obviously they might not taste as optimal as if you'd bought them fresh in the US.....

Never heard of Scrapple or Birch beer, so I guess you can see what is available tends to trend towards the more mainstream and popular products. One thing I've tried that I might even try on the channel (but I'd love to get some from the US because the time I had it it was almost out of code and clearly going stale) was "Popp'd Kerns"... OMG such a great idea, and even half stale it was the most delicious thing lol...

Anyway I'll shoot you a PM and I'd be happy to do a snackexchange.. :)
