USS Pennsylvania (SSBN-735) is a United States Navy Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine that has been in commission since 1989. She is the fourth ship of the United States Navy to be named for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She was launched on 23 April 1988, sponsored by Mrs. Marilyn Garrett, and commissioned on 9 September 1989, with Captain Richard M. I wish the USN would keep their older traditional names for Aircraft carriers as well

Naming all CVN after former Congressmen, Senators, or former Presidents is what I have a problem with.
(sometimes even a former Secretary of Defense)

Congressman X was a true Friend of the Navy, Senator Y was a good guy. we will name a Nuclear Aircraft carrier after him.

Presidents OK I can live with a USS George Washington.
But Harry Truman was in the Field Artillery/ He wanted to get rid of the large angle deck Fleet carrier USS United States .
Name a new Howitzer system after him.
Also with the US presidents the US Navy has to pick one R and then one D to please each party.

As for me If the Navy asked ''what CVN names would please YOU Norton?"

I would start with Enterprise (They have a new big E in the pipeline for 2025)
