The Book
The book is available through the website.
If the documentary is good I'll consider the book.
But that old Civil War series with Ken Burns was the best.
That had a good compendium book.

I've read the book (by Evan Wright) - it's pretty good! Quite moving in some parts and hilariously funny in others.
The platoon leader portrayed in 'Generation Kill', LT Nathaniel Fick, has written his own book about his time in the USMC. It's called 'One Bullet Away' and it's just excellent.
Incidentally, both books have passages describing the pleasures (or otherwise) of MREs.
