Cambridge American Cemetery is the only WWII American military cemetery in the United Kingdom.
During the war, some three million Americans came to the British Isles to prepare, train, and fight for freedom in Europe and beyond.
More than 3,800 of those Americans are buried here, and more than 5,000 others are memorialized on the cemetery's Wall of the Missing, forever honored.
The author of this post has an uncle memorialized here. His body was never recovered.
