Band of Brothers is an American ten-part, 11-hour television World War II miniseries, originally produced and broadcast in 2001, based on historian and biographer Stephen E. Ambroses' book Band of Brothers
One of my favorite series of all time - I've seen it through at least a dozen times by now. When they made The Pacific as a follow up a few years ago I was a bit disappointed that it didn't draw me in and keep me coming back like Band of Brothers did. It was definitely a fantastic series, but Band of Brothers is a hard one to beat.

Author's Note: My grandfather related to me a story exactly similar to the example portrayed in Band of Brothers long before this series was produced or screen adapted. I memorialized Cpl Beades in my post on The Sinking of The RMS Laconia He was with the 9/4. I know they were in the region and crossed The Rhine River. He related the event to me starkly when he said,
They had us zeroed
