Nice! I've had a few of these and liked them except the sopacko one I had which didn't taste as good. It may be all in the mind, but while I don't think there is one over all best maker (apart from Oregon freeze dried/ mountain house for the LRP/MCW mains) I do think some makers do better at certain versions.
I agree with you on the cheese spread. Jalapeno cheese would be perfect with this
