It looks like an frat initiation.... 
The thing is this the "pledges" are in the new USAF cammo pattern,but the other ones in the flak jackets are either army or SPECOPS (Rangers,Recon..) because they are the only ones that do that,including the SEAL's to mix everything up and chow it down....
They do similar things in the artic and mountain survival training.They combine everything left of their MRE's and mix it with hot water to pass it down....yummmmmm
They even train them to eat food out of a trash can among other things....anything edible is sustenance for the body!!!!

it wouldnt be too bad until you add all the beverage base. i sometimes add the wheat bread or crackers and cheese spread to my entree. one of my alltime favorites is the spaghetti crackers cheese spread and tobasco all mixed up in the pouch mmmmmmm.
