Back in the days, they even use to shoot horses for their chow.....not even counting what was scavenged and "commandered" from the civilian population.....

[quote="German_EPA"]what is this for am movie? "im westen nichts neues" ???

I think what you tried to say was: What is the movie for? If that is your question well I can say I love these German war films. And this scene highlights the true facts behind war.

This clip shows the scarcity of food and the hardships of war. Nothing fancy for the soldier here. Or, in Afghanistan.

I highly recommend the book if you have not read it already.

As Erich Maria Remarque is the author of both - I guess you are right.
Im Westen nichts neues equals the english titel All Quiet on the Western Front

It´s a WW1 "story"

The "what is this for am movie" is not a sentence. As written it has no meaning. So I hope that is not what you meant. Because it is incorrect.
Sorry. That needed correction.

Come on guys, go a little easier on each other. It could have been a typo or it could just be a misunderstanding because English isn't everyone's first language around here.

And I still tip my hat to everyone who posts here who isn't a native English speaker...I can only imagine what I'd be like trying to post on a German forum...you guys would probably think you're talking to a 3 year old. Either that or I'd make some crude grammar mistake and they'd kick me out. :-)
