Slovenian Type A 24hr Combat Ration (BB 2015) Part 1

Post by BTemple » Sat Mar 04, 2017 5:30 pm

Finally getting around to reviewing this awesome ration that I picked up for Asger a while back. It's 2 years past it's expiry date but everything so far has been very good.

You seem to be prepared about the food in most cases, nice intro about Slovenian history and army too. You had few mistakes like can opener you missed to mention and the lemon in instant tea ingredients

Well, everyone makes mistakes... but I liked the review and it was fun to watch. I never had A menu so I could not tell you what kind of fish skuša is and the vitamin/mineral tablets gozdni sadeži(SLO) šumsko voće(CRO/BiH/SRB) are flavour of forest fruit, like strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, black and red currant. This is also very popular as a tea flavour or a jam in this part of world and you will have it in other rations sometimes too. I hope you will keep reviewing stuff.

Big + from mea parvitas.

I realized that right away once I took a sip of the tea, but was too late to go back and mention the lemon fruit solids, I had thrown the package away. Haha
The fish ended up being mackerel, which I would have guessed it was aside from tuna.
Yeah here that flavour would normally be called wildberry. It's great, most of those berries grow right next to the home I grew up in.

Thanks a lot, really looking forward to doing the 2nd part of the review!

Nice review.
Looks like you're using the light from outside. That's much more diffuse and natural looking (duh) than a bright lamp 1 meter away. Good spot :)

Try to keep in mind not to mess with the plastic bags (like the crisp bread bags) in front of the microphone while you're talking because it drowns your voice.
Other than that I think it was good :)

Thanks for the input! Those are the kind of things you don't think about at the moment it's happening.
I've gotta remember to not talk when I stir stuff or pour, so then it'll make editing out some of those unnecessary seconds easier while not losing information that I'm giving.
