Today I saw a nice video on YT from Military.com I want to share with you:
YT: 5 Things You Don't Know About: Rations
Re: YT: 5 Things You Don't Know About: Rations
Thank you for the link. I wondered about last comment regarding laser printers and future military rations.
The color background films of Troops eating C rations and MCI were very interesting. It looked like the troop at point 3.21 was making sausage gravy by using the cut up frankfurters. I could be wrong, but that's what it looked like.
I have been recently reading about the period after the second world war until 1958. The Quartermasters attempted to improve the flavor and variety of the Combat ration. The end result was MCI and troops could not tell the difference, thus using the 1940's term until the early 80's
