Russian 24hr FSB - Non-Mountain Version - Menu 1 - packed 2017

Hi guys, Excited about my first international ration. (I have only had 95% of the current US menu at this point) I will be writing up a review once i have a full day to consume this one. But here are some pics to get started. I tried the smashed pack of crackers and they are somewhat stale and very bland by themselves, but I will be using the remaining 3 packs as "spoons".

Getting this review done in phases because of my crazy life and all is done via cell phone: it will be an overview and not as detailed as i would like.

Berry drink mix, may have added a bit too much water but nice light raspberry/strawberry type flavor. This is sugar based but is not over-sweet Minced meat side, very much like a chunky style pate' good sausage pork flavor with the perfect amount of seasoning. Paired well with the crackers and was not fatty or greasy. Not very scoopable with just the cracker, very dense. Veg caviar, this is really good. I can only really compare it to a good pasta sauce. The tomato is the strongest flavor, but onion comes through as well. A cracker with the meat and veg is a tasty bite.

Apple jam and fruit bar Fruit bar is prune, apricot, and hazelnut. Its a super thick fruit leather and the hazelnut does not come through. Perfect sweetness and would be a good contrast to the main entree (wanted to dig into this before the mains)
The apple jam, also called apple butter is amazing and i would probably add to the breakfast portion of the meal. I think i may taste a slight spice to it, like cinnamon or nutmeg, but there may not actually be any in it.

Coffee & Tea
They give 3 massive packs of sugar in this puppy and i only sprinkled in part of one pack. I went low and only did 4oz of water. I expected the coffee to be stronger, but it was a perfect cup. Low acidity and smooth. I prefer it to the mre coffees i have had.
Tea was nice, and a bit stronger than what im used to but tasted like the standard orange pekoe variety. With the fruit bar, these were a good match. ...mains are next in a few days

The drinks are supposed to be like kompot, a fruit/syrup drink, try it hot! It's really hearty that way...

Thanks for the tip Carlos! It didnt dissolve all that well in cold, now i know why. The sugar crystals were fairly big compared to US sugar...but it still had great flavor.
