Greetings. This review is for IMP14 Menu #9 Shepherds Pie, from a case I got from BlackDogBob.
Shepherds pie
Peaches (box said peaches but was actually applesauce)
Hamburger bun
Peanut butter and honey
Beef jerky
M&Ms
Ketchup and hot sauce
Cappuccino mix, Tea with creamer and sugar, and 2 Orange pineapple drink mix
Spoon, napkins, wetnap, and matches(no salt or pepper)
Mints The Shepherds Pie, If you could call it that, was actually more like beef hash. Tasty with a good portion of ground meat with potatoes and corn. The bun was a little dark but tasted good as a peanut butter and honey sandwich. The package labeled peaches was actually applesauce made by Wornick in the USA. Oddly this has happened to me before. Wornick check your quality control lol. The applesauce was very good though. The beef jerky was very hard, but it was good jerky. The ketchup and hot sauce I had no use for. The M&Ms were standard commercial candies in commercial packaging. The cappuccino mix was excellent, I really enjoyed it. The tea was ordinary black tea, nothing special. The orange pineapple drink was exceptional! Not like artificial tasting koolaid style drinks in the US rations, which I don't really care for.
This was like orange-pineapple juice. Really tasty, my favorite drink mix of any rations I've eaten. And I've eaten a lot. Overall this meal was very good. Canadian IMPs overall are more expensive than MREs but are also a lot harder to obtain. As a field ration I give the IMPs an excellent rating and enjoyed the ones I've had enuff to have bob set aside another case for me.Thx for checking out my review. Happy ration hunting!
