This is my first international ration, I picked it up from the post office maybe an hour ago. I got this and #10. I was curious about the groats so this one goes first.

Opened up and spread out it didn't seem like there was really that much to it but in reality it is quite a bit

All plated and warmed up.

Now for my take on it:
Pork with Groats in Sauce: hands down the best main I think I have ever had. Even my wife and daughter who turned up their noses liked this a lot. There is plenty of it and it is filling. You can see the chunks of meat and they are tender with perfect seasoning.

Chocolate: this wasn't as bitter as I thought it would be. Very good. Need more bars of this.

Crackers: hard as rocks and the caraway seeds really make these a winner. They were great used to dip up the pork and excellent with the honey.

Hazelnuts: umm....they're hazelnuts, good and a plenty of them.

Lemon drink: tasted like I imagine Lemon Pledge does. Okay but not exciting.

Honey: dark and sweet and delicious with crackers

I didn't make up the tea but will probably have a cup later this evening. I am saving the stove to toss in my emergency bag.

On a scale of 1-10 this is easily a 9 in content, flavor and ability to fill me up. I highly recommend ordering these. I may order a full case to have on hand based solely on this menu.

Thanks for the review man. Simple and reliable ration. Did you used FHR to heat up the main?

I did use the FRH and it is amazing compared to the US FRH. It took a few seconds to activate and I was worried it was a dud.....and then it woke up. I have a couple more coming that I will probably trade off depending on what the main is. I only have US MRE and FSR to compare this to but as you said, it is a simple and reliable meal and I loved it.

Just tried meal #10 Stewed Beef with Vegetables. Again I am truly impressed. No pics this time since all was the same other than the entree and coffee vs tea. Huge chunk of beef in this and the vegetable puree is wonderful. Not sure what seasoning is used but they hit money with it. I can't say enough about the caraway crackers, they are just tasty. The coffee is strong but not overpowering for me. If you have not had these I would suggest ordering some as the price is good and both shipments were right at 15 days. I see me ordering more.

I have Kazakh, Russian and Canadian all coming soon so I will finally be able to compare others. The Polish are definitely on my radar as well, just need to find some.
