Canadian/Dutch dinner

Post by housil » Wed Jun 29, 2016 1:34 pm

Mrs Housil went to night shift so I decided for a Canadian IMP for dinner :D

I grabbed a ration out of my 2006 case :D

Apple sauce?! But where is the entree?!

The bag was open by German customs from the bottom and they have taken the entree out

So I switched for dinner to a Dutch one:

Chili Con Carne

The opened pouch, just 5 years old

No bad smell

A nice and just very litte spicy taste. The beans had a little "solid" texture

I really liked this one, Housil! The only sad part is the German Customs removing your entree. :(
Very sorry to hear that happened - it is that ever frustrating question of why they feel the need to do that to us - it's only food - and it's such a luck of the draw on when they take it or leave it.

And I must say, that Dutch Chili Con Carne is fantastic! I had the one you sent to me - I felt like it was a more complex flavored and satisfying chili than any other I'd ever had from a Ration! :D

So nice to see it in good clear photos here and to know you got to enjoy one as well. :)

Nice improvising with the missing entree. My first international ration is set to arrive (Russian MVD IRP) when i'm on vacation and I hope it will arrive unmolested.
Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!
