Hello guys
So here is a little overview of Croatian ration Type 2 IBO (Individualni Borbeni Obrok). First of all, this ICR is amost impossible to get, there is no commercial sale of ration packs in Croatia and there is no civilian version of it. It's made in NATO standard. since we are NATO state.
Ration is secured in MRE like waterproof dark green colour bag
Information about ration is printed in Croatian, English and French
Box inside was secured with scotch tape
On the top of the box there is more detailed information about company who made this ration, exp. date etc.
When opened box looks like this
Contents outside of the box
Keks (Biscuits, bread substitute)
Paprenjak (Pepper biscuit)
Cvjetni med (Flower honey) x 2
Osvježavajuća maramica (Refreshing wet tissue, or as you may know it moist towelettes) x3
Kavabon (Candy with coffee)
Instant crni čaj s aromom breskve, obogaćen sa vitaminom C (Instant black tea with peach flavor, enriched with vitamin C)
Instant napitak s okusom naranče (Instant drink with natural orange flavouring) x2 - Croatian version of Tang - Cedevita
Papaja (Dried papaya) packaged under an atmosphere of nitrogen
Desertna čokolada (Dessert chocolate)
Kokošija juha (Instant chicken soup)
Ananas dukati (Dried pineapple rings) packaged under an atmosphere of nitrogen
Jetrena pašteta (Liver pate)
Goveđi narezak (Beef luncheon meat, beef patty)
Goveđi gulaš (Beef goulash) - this one needs to be heated before consumation

I´ve seen it on ebay.de. Thx for introducing it. I like it and they seem very professional too me, the cans are a little "vintage". Did you eat it yet?
What are "Pepper biscuit"?

I only took dried fruit because I love that stuff. Most of the contents in this box I have eaten in my life at some point, same goes for the canned food from this pack. Though, I don't know about this 3 pack biscuits - this is new to me, I remember the old version camo packaged we called Rambo keks because they where so bland and tough only Rambo could eat them.housil wrote:I´ve seen it on ebay.de. It's traditional Croatian biscuit made from honey and black pepper. Quite nice actually.housil wrote:What are "Pepper biscuit"?

Very interesting ration! I wonder what the shelf life would be on these? Maybe 3-4 years, they actually seem "similar" to the French RCIR in composition.

Asger
Thank you for the post, it is interesting to see the items unpacked. I have tried the meat component in the tall red can and it was very good.
Good broth and rich flavor

This is how Paprenjak looks like. There are 3 pieces of these very hard cookies, mild sweet honey taste at first and then it kicks in black pepper, also very light.
I think this would be hard as a cracker even outside of the package for a few days, so in a 24h ration this can be opened in the early morning and still be the same late in the night.

And now THIS is really cool! I do not think I have seen a Croatian Ration opened yet!
There is one on Ebay right now, sadly the guy is asking like $75 for it..
I love the way those crackers sound - I second parafireboy's notion those things sound really good!
Well done, Asger!
