This post especially for housil

and for all who want to know the difference between the two types of cheese.
I've seen 2 types of cheese in french rations. Normal cheese spread :
It looks like this:
Out of 9 menus I found only 1 with this type of cheese. In a menu 14 from 2010.Next year it was replaced by a "Milky dessert", actualy rice pudding.
The other type is Camembert cheese:
50% Camembert...
Darker colour and stronger "cheese" taste.
Some liquid on the bottom..
I like both but as far as I remember the "normal" version tasted better.

Wow, great - thank you! I realy appreciate this.
So it´s "just" the creme part of the camembert but not the mold(ed) cover.

You're welcome
In my opinion it has nothing to do with real camembert cheese. It's like any other salty cheese spread.I didn't expect something like a real camembert with that special white crust (?)...It's not bad at all. Just different

No,that menu 14 was the only one I found with
normal cheese
I haven't found a "normal cheese" since then.
You want the complete 2010-11 menu list?

oeps, sorry. I must have read it too fast.
Thank you for correcting.
I'd be happy with a full list, thank you in advance!
< Turns out I only have older French rations ( latest is 2009 production).>
Here's a cheese from an '04 French ration that was on the shelf ( opened ) so I dug trough it and wanted to share the pictures with you. It tasted not bad for canned cheese, a little salty perhaps. I had it on a bun.

You are brave Nawt

Eating cheese from 2004...
Can wasn't swollen but dairy products are more perishable, aren't they?
I have an MRE cheese spread from about 1993 (dark brown package). I don't dare to open it.I had two of them, opened one 6 years ago.
It was terribly stinky

Biohazard

Don´t ask me about the age of that can, but it could have been ~2004, that´s how they look when:
