I was lucky enough to get my hands on some components of an Australian CR1M,02/03 vintage
One of these components happened to be Musk Candy, Traditional Taste
I have never had anything musk flavored in the states or while traveling for that matter, the closest thing would be a musk melon( like cantaloupe)
So thats what i was thinking (hoping) it would taste like
The ingredients list didn't really help too much in trying to guess what was next
The smell of the candy was the first clue, but i ventured on and tried a piece.
It was somewhat like a large piece of pez texture wise, plenty of sugar.

The answer to the question of the day
It tasted like musk
Just what you are thinking , a sweet cologne like flavor.
If you have ever had the square violet candies, it would be similar to that but musky-er
i don't think i liked it, but would easily eat in an emergency,
(Although i may run out giving a piece to everyone around to see their reactions to the unfamiliar flavor)

Re: Musk Candy
Told you the taste was pretty hard to explain , but they aren't bad.
Musks are an old school lolly (candy) over here, they also come in Musk sticks, similar in size to twizzlers?, with a the same flavour.

You were right Yowie, it is a very unique flavor,There aren't even any good comparisons that get close.
Is this flavor very popular where you are?

Re: Musk Candy
They used to be a lot more popular when I was growing up, but you still see them being sold quite often. I think that they are probably considered pretty old school, but the ADF must have either got a big batch of them cheap or they are pretty popular with the diggers. (Considering that there were two packets in the one CR1M)

Re: Musk Candy
I recently had the Orange and Tangerine variety of these candies in a PR1M from 08 and had to chime in on this note. When they aren't "Musk" flavored, they're identical to Pez, only larger. Fantastic candies in my opinion.Name_not_found wrote:It was somewhat like a large piece of pez texture wise, plenty of sugar.
