As mentioned, I got some of these:
Today I gave one a try
What´s your very first thought?!?!

Right - Yecch, maggots...
As advised, in a pot with cold water
let it boil and simmer
enjoy it
At least, it was "OK", pretty sour but a vegetarin meal.
The biggest disadvantage as a military meal, you need a pot and boil(ing) water for ar least 5-10 min. Not suitable as a ready to eat meal in the fields or any other freezedried ration where you just have to heat up water and let it soak.
Another, but minor was the smell. I had it as lunch at work and it covered the whole staion with it´s uncommon, "suspicious" smell

"Brand Partnership"...interesting name. It almost sounds like they didn't have a name to put on there so just left the generic name on there. Like:
<Put Company Name Here>
Curry Rice Meal

These sound like the ready meals you can get here, just different packaging. I dont have any to hand here, they are all at my dorm in Swansea, I'll try and take a pic then I get back. They are the standard student food, quick and easy

Had a funny incident with these things once at uni.
I was walking past the kitchen when I smelled burning, so I took a look inside. The whole room was full of smoke, the microwave humming in the background, so in I went to turn off the microwave and open the windows. It took a few times going in and out for air, but I managed it and I called the warden to let him know about the situation. When he got there we checked out the microwave and found a pile of ash on a plate, as black as charcole and venting smoke.
What had happened? We learned, when the owner of the 'food' arrived, he had decided to make some microwave rice, but hadn't realised that you needed to ADD WATER

the pouches shown are the the snack portion from the standard 10 man ORP rations(you get 10 of these per box usually the same flavour).and you have to leave them for a while to soften
