Sources for IDF Manot Krav preparation methods and "hacks"?

In Steve's two videos on the Manot Krav, he mentions IDF soldiers either could or do prepare the items included in different ways to avoid monotony; I was wondering if any of these are recorded somewhere or could be verified as employed methods by real IDF veterans or some form of recorded word/video, or overall collected in one place so as to serve as a sort of guide on how the rations were prepared by soldiers who actually had to eat them for training or battle purposes.
