Hi everyone! I recently tried the Polish SR 1 ration. It's an 8 hour ration, like a US MRE. Mine came with beans and sausage, hardtack, Spam, red candy, a drink, coffee candy, gum, honey, a napkin, tp, a spoon, a straw and a frh. All in all it was a really good ration - the beans and sausage was hearty, and the drink was called tea but was more like fruit punch. The hardtack was impossible to eat, but the honey made it a bit better and spam made it a lot better. The candy and gum we're really good, especially the red berry candy had a hard shell and chewy inside. Overall this was a great ration, and you should definitely try it. BTW, there are two plated because I shared it with my dad as it had a surprising amount of food.
Edit: forgot to mention, it also came with a weird cereal bar with styrofoam on it. It was good, but had a weird texture

Did US MRE change to 8 hour? I've been out of the ration loop a long time, but I thought they were always single meal packages.

Sorry, I just meant it is a single meal. I guess you eat 3 meals a day, so it's 8hrs.Apocalypse wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 12:15 pmDid US MRE change to 8 hour? I've been out of the ration loop a long time, but I thought they were always single meal packages.

Re: Polish SR menu 1 ration review
In the field, soldiers get three per day. There would be cases in the back of the truck and they would grab and field strip them (remove the unwanted stuff and make the package lighter/smaller) while on patrol. My Army friends said they rarely used the heaters.
But they would normally eat on base and not always need mre.s. Mre is pretty much only meant for the times when there is no base mess hall. I believe they are also distributed a lot during training.
Good write up on the SR, cant go wrong with sausage and beans!

Oh yeah, that makes perfect sense. I need more instant coffee, it seems.cap174 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 12:36 pmSorry, I just meant it is a single meal.
