This thread answered a lot of questions specially what Griessspeiese is and looks like  .
Recently I got a small package from Olli. It had plenty of EPa components including bread, crackers ,cheese, energy bars(which they were great and gone...lol),chocolate and many other good stuff.
Already the chocolate, energy bars and one of the cheese spreads are gone. What is incredible is the different dates the componets have. The interesting thing is that they looked and tasted great!!! :D Too bad some of the MRE or other rations can hold like that thru time. :(

To my german "kamaraden"...enjoy your national holiday!!!!
Schuss!!!

It's like nothing I've ever had before. Texture is a bit funky, but the taste isn't too bad at all.

I was in Berlin for the 20th Anniversay celebrations, it was a fantastic day, except the rain and wind which stopped after the fireworks had finished.... just my luck

Heres some pics from the Brandenburg Gate, I was right at the front of the crowd as a the symbolic domino wall fell.

I remember those days back in 89' i was just 19 and in college.
I visited Europa for a college history/humanities course that summer and saw the "mauer" from afar.It was impressive.
Also remember the checkpoints and border crossings..." Your passport ,Please..."" Ihre papieren ,Bitte..." " Votre passport si vous plait..." "Documentos por favor..." ahhhh those days :)
Is incredible that 5 months later the wall came down...

Saturday and sunday were fine a little cold, monday (celebration day) was bad, rain and windchill and tuesday was fine. Apart from the one day the weather was OK, just wear and extra layer and it was fine, nice and warm. It is winter time.

Couldnt really get a decent pic Brandenburg Tor, lots of vans and people were there settin up for the celebration. I'll have to go back :D
Berlin is a fantastic city, good nightlife, and general atmosphere was unlike anything in Britain, I really want to go back, I love Germany was a country, been there 3 times now and loved each visit. Might need to spend longer out there next time, 4 days was not enough and a week certainly isn't either.

Plus I bought a new car out there and I really want to test drive it 8)

I have my own Trabant, shame its a toy :D
